Federal employees have no maternity leave benefits. Parents have to use thier own earned leave and when this runs out they are at the mercy of their supervisors to authorize the ability to borrow against future leave. The VA does not even offer short term disability thereby giving employees no options. Many Veterans are employed at the VA and maternity leave should not be a privilege.
