Pass Federal law legalizing prostitution in all 50 states.

The writer of this petition, and those who sign, believe prostitution should be legal, as the benefits for sex workers, customers, and the government outweigh the problems associated with prostitution, the overwhelming majority of which are created or exacerbated by it's status as a crime. Street and ad based solicitation should remain illegal, and the act should occur in brothels licensed by the state they operate in. To prevent legitimizing pimps, an application process and background check for brothel licenses should be in place, with requirements near or above those currently required to own a fully automatic firearm. Brothels should be restricted to industrial park areas. Condoms should be required every time, and STD checks should be required for both the worker and the client.
