Pass a federal law prohibiting not only congress but any public entity from passing a law abridging free speech.

The United States Constitution's First Amendment reads that "Congress shall pass no ... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble..." however does not prohibit any other public office or entity from passing such laws, such as States or Public Universities, and as a result many such entities are passing rules and regulations prohibiting and limiting free speech throughout the nation. Many Americans believe this goes against the values of founding fathers, and though it should be lawful for private entities to do so, public entities should not retain such power. We propose either an amendment or a federal law prohibiting these policies by any public entity, alongside congress, expanding the rights of the first amendment.
