This petition asks congress & the president to pass federal legislation mandating that all police officers in the USA be given additional initial & ongoing training.The goal is to create laws mandating that officers receive a set minimum hours of training including, but not limited to use of peaceful conflict resolution, deescalation techniques, diversity sensitivity training, psychological counseling techniques,& best practices for non-violent confrontation/resolution emphasizing the impact historical racial inequality has on the current culture of police brutality towards non-whites.Laws mandate use of cameras with no off/edit options, racial/other biases tolerance tests, historical overview of social/emotional impact of racism, and an outside agency prosecution of police misconduct.
