Pass A Foreclosure Moratorium and Short-Sale Relief for Evicted Borrowers

Created by P.B. on January 14, 2013

Many who purchased homes during the housing bubble would not have done so had their lenders performed their fiduciary responsibility and informed borrowers of the fact. Many would not have done so had their lenders performed their own due diligence to ensure sufficient income on borrowers' part to repay the loan. There is an absurd injustice in foreclosing on families' homes when the underlying cause is lenders' failure to perform their fiduciary responsibilities and due diligence. It is no less an absurd injustice to require those who purchased homes during the housing bubble to make payments on mortgages for homes from which they have been compelled to leave. We seek a temporary moratorium until the legal circumstances can be assessed for each instance of foreclosure and short-sale.
