Our country is divided on the issue of gun control and our 2nd amendment rights to bear arms. What all of us can agree on is that almost all gun owners are responsible citizens that deeply care about their safety and the safety of others.
Ownership of a deadly weapon requires a level of responsibility that goes above and beyond anything else we own. And since most guns used to commit manslaughter were in a possession of an unlawful owner, new laws are required to codify the responsibility that comes with gun ownership.
This petition is for the the president to work with congress to pass a law that would prosecute gun owners for all crimes committed using their guns as if they had committed those crimes themselves.
