As the penalties for committing an act of premeditated murder are quite severe including life imprisonment or death in some states, It seems absurd to believe that ANY GUN LAW passed by Congress could possibly prevent a tragedy which the penalties of life imprisonment or death all ready do not. Therefore this petition is actually a call for the Obama adminastration to focus on remedies that will actually deal with the problem at hand and not infringe on second amendment rights of law abiding citizens. Consider proposals such as relaxing gun laws so law abiding citizens who have guns are more likely to be present to prevent the next mass shooting and DEFENDING obvious targets such as schools with armed police officers. Oh and hammers killed more then Rifles last year. Need lighter hammers.
