pass a law prohibiting use of credit scores to discriminate in hiring for employment unrelated to money

Created by F.H. on November 25, 2012

As result of the country going through the worst recession since the Great Depression many Americans have had their credit scores adversely impacted. The past four years have been extremely difficult for many Americans to find employment, many have lost employment, and have difficulty paying bills timely or at all.

This petition requests that the Obama administration work with Congress to enact legislation to prohibit discrimination against Americans seeking work not directly related or responsible for money.

The goal of this petition is to request the administration to draft policies and laws that Congress can/will pass that will protect Americans from discrimination based upon credit scores in the hiring process for positions unrelated to financial management or administration.
