Pass a law that prohibits employers from using a credit score to turn away applicants.

Created by S.K. on November 29, 2012

As many Americans struggle with personal debt, the ability to gain employment in many entry level jobs has been hampered by bad debt. Because of this personal debt, made up of medical bills, student loans, utility and housing bills as well as consumer debt such as credit cards people are being turned down for minimum wage and entry level jobs that are the initial step to return to financial independence.
Please pass a law on a national level that says employers can not look up a potential employees credit rating prior to employment. It is an invasion of personal privacy and is keeping many citizens from gainful employment by turning away honest, hard working people who have some financial difficulties.
