All law enforcement officers in the state of California should be required to wear body cameras while on duty at all times.
When there is an incident where a law enforcement officer has an altercation that leads to the death or serious injury of an individual, these tapes will be made public per the discretion of the involved party's family or legal guardians.
According to a report conducted by Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) through the U.S. Dept of Justice, there has been a significant reduction in complaints in Rialto, California since the implementation of body cameras.
