pass a law requiring all states to recognize same-sex marriages that have been performed in other states.

Created by M.U. on February 02, 2014

Many states that do not currently perform same-sex marriages also refuse to accept the validity of same-sex marriages that were performed in states where it is legal. Thus, if a same-sex couple moves to a state where their marriage is not recognized, all benefits received from their marriage are lost. We urge the federal government to pass a bill recognizing the validity of the marriage of same-sex couples in all parts of the United States, whether or not the area they are in performs such marriages.
