The government has enacted many laws protecting individuals Health, Financial, and Automobile information. The government has also enacted many laws protecting personal information collected (like census infromation).
There is no law protecting gun owners. Currently, anyone can obtain all the information collected when registering the gun through a freedom of information request.
It is in the best interest of the government and the consumer to have a law enacted to protect gun owner information.
