It's gone on for far too long that property crime has been a "slap on the wrist" and the offender serves a minimal time in prison after law enforcement work day and night to catch these criminals.
The notion that property can be replaced needs to end and the underlying psychological effects need to be realized, which is one can no longer feel safe in their own home.
Property crime is only a start for most criminals and the states need to be required to set minimum punishments and get tougher on this type of crime. Why must a crime be violent or drug related to be taken seriously on the federal and state level?
Hard working Americans deserve better from our courts and our elected officials.
