The minimum wage hasn't been increased in 3 years and "Tipped Workers" haven't received a minimum wage increase since 1991. Currently the Federal minimum wage is sitting at $7.25 and $2.13 for Tipped Workers. The bill that was introduced would increase the minimum wage $.85 a year for 3 years raising the minimum wage to $9.80 and Tipped Workers would receive $.85 a year until the tipped minimum wage was 70% of the Federal minimum wage. These pay increase are essential to the recovery of the economy. People making minimum wage are constantly abused and living in poverty. Please pass this bill quickly so the backbone of America can live more humanely.
