Several states have adopted similar laws collectively called "Stand Your Ground Laws," which give citizens the right to defend themselves from attackers with force, even deadly force. In the aftermath of the not guilty verdict to the Florida v. Zimmerman trial, it is necessary to standardize and nationalize a Stand Your Ground Law for all U.S. citizens. The murder of innocent, unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin by George Zimmerman was not properly judged because the Florida laws by which the decision was made were faulty, as no limit on defense force is in place. We therefore propose the following national law: "All citizens attacked with unlawful force shall be allowed to defend themselves using an amount of force equal to that being used against them." This will be called "Trayvon's Law."
