Corporations, for far too long, have utilized their innumerable amount of wealth to sway government policy in favor of the interest of the top, 1% of highly exclusive CEOs and other profiteering trustee members; this kind of conglomeration and lobbying of government keeps the interests of the aforementioned wealthy elite in the eyes of politicians, but blurs the rest of the populace, whose money cannot afford them a voice in policy creation.
Rep. Ted Deutch highlights this key issue and seeks to resolve it with his purposed OCCUPIED Amendment which specifically -- "...prohibit(s) corporate spending in all elections, and affirm(s) the authority of Congress and the States to regulate corporations and to regulate and set limits on all election contributions and expenditures."
