We currently have hundred's of thousand's of police, fire, and EMS personnel who put their lives on the line each and every day they put their uniform on to keep the American people safe. President Obama and every politician in the United States utilize the protection of these amazing individuals on a daily basis. It is time we as a nation enact a discrimination protection law similar to Louisiana House Bill 953. This would make it a felony to attack one of these unsung heroes in any form. Many other classes of individuals are protected under the Hate Crime Protection Act and I believe it is time to thank our public servants by adding them to this list. TOGETHER, WE THE PEOPLE can enact change that will only reassure those that protect us, that we are willing to protect them!
