The overwhelming majority of mass shootings in the U.S. occur in allegedly gun-free zones. This petition calls for the enforcement of gun-free policies in all gun-free zones. Under this new regulation, any establishment, including public schools, universities, places of business, or otherwise, that wishes to declare itself a "gun-free zone" will be required to operate secure entrances through the employment of weapon-screening devices. At a minimum, each secure entrance will be equipped with a metal-detector and personnel essential to the operation of the device. Each establishment will only allow admission through secure entrances as previously described. Establishments who fail to meet any one of these requirements will be prohibited from displaying gun-free declarations on the property.
