Pass the Safe Military Bases Act, H.R. 3199 repealing bans on military personnel carrying firearms on military bases

Created by R.J. on April 04, 2014

The purpose of H.R. 3199 is to safeguard military and civilian personnel on military bases by repealing bans, including DoD Directive 5210.56 and Army Regulation 190-14, on military personnel carrying firearms. The America we know and love has changed dramatically and new threats have emerged, both foreign and domestic. In response to the recent shootings on military installations, namely Fort Hood and Norfolk Naval Base, and in support of the Second Amendment, it is time this administration seriously considers allowing our service members to defend themselves with personal firearms on military installations. The oath of a service member charges them with defending the constitution and this nation at home and abroad. They deserve the tools to do so effectively.
