Pass the Safe Schools Improvement Act of 2011

Created by L.M. on December 10, 2012

The Safe Schools Improvement Act of 2011, a federal bill introduced in both the Senate (S. 506) and the House of Representatives (H.R. 1648), would amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to require states and school districts to investigate, address, and take action to prevent bullying and harassment of students in local public schools. The Safe Schools Improvement Act is currently in committee in both the Senate and the House of Representatives. With the current congressional session rapidly approaching an end, this critical bill is likely to die in committee if further action is not taken.
