Pass a sensible federal gun law that requires a secure gun safe to be installed before a permit is issued.

A sensible law that requires every present gun owner to install a gun safe capable of safely securing his or her firearms and amunnition by 7/11/13. The law would require new gun permits to be contingent on this requirement before the permit is issued. Inspections would be carried out by local officials for a modest fee. This law would prevent firearms from being stolen, falling into the hands of our children or an unbalanced person. This law would also make it a crime for not making this very REASONABLE attempt to prevent an accident or crime from occuring with your firearm. Make no mistake, I am a gun owner and believe every american has this right if desired, but access to firearms need to be controlled in some manner. If you can afford to buy it, you can afford to secure it.
