The Simpson-Bowles Plan crafted by the National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform is a balanced/bipartisan approach to our deficit problems. The Obama Administration has a unique opportunity to work with Congress, which is currently consumed by the desire to cut the deficit, to fix major challenges pertaining to: discretionary spending, the tax code, healthcare costs, and entitlement sustainability.
The economy is poised for a major come-back, but the very real problem of fiscal uncertainty is holding the country back. This plan would both restore confidence in the near term and repair our fiscal house far into the future.
