Many people have falsely worn the uniform of our military and of our law enforcement officers and claimed to receive medals and honors of war. Doing so is disrespectful to those who have actually served and those who have died for our country.
Yet there is nothing people can do but inform people they are not real veterans. By passing the stolen valor law we will be able to report these people for who they are, impostors. It could be seen as a breach to their freedom of speech but it is illegal to impostor a police officer, why not a military veteran who has risked their lives to protect their country?
