The Truth in News and Licensing Act: Would create a sub-agency of the Federal Trade Commission - Bureau of Consumer Protection, that would adopt the Society of Professional Journalists - Code of Ethics, and form a mandatory licensing and certification program for all Journalists and News organizations.
Due to the virility of multimedia today and in the obvious future, "news reporting" and "journalism" must not pose a threat to our national security; through nonfactual stories or deliberately and falsely using prevarication in news broadcasting.
The future of our country relies upon truth being the bedrock and cornerstone of education and the reporting of current events; the First Amendment does not protect the dissemination of false statements.
