I have no objection to a "pathway to citizenship" AFTER a real border security effort is created and done. It is a cart and horse thingy, and not a political thingy. The governments main job is National Security (from terrorists,DRUGS and cartel crime against illegals as well as citizens). When they do their job (gov.) humanitarian fairness can be done without delay. The governments refusal to feed the horse, get him healthy and than put it in front of the cart is and always has been my objection to Comprehensive (non-security) Reform. Not the illegals looking for a good life from actual work, not crime and drugs.
