The federal tipped minimum wage stands at $2.13 since 1991. Now is the time to voice our opinion and raise it! The start of this year meant that gratuity would no longer be added to large parties. This is a huge gamble for servers when serving large party guests. A solid minimum wage would significantly help servers when recieving less than 15% tip or no tip at all. All tipped wages remain taxed on top of a $2.13 minimum wage. There is strong opposition from major restaurant coorperations, because it would mean taking from their profit. However, servers are the reason for their success and should be resonably and fairly compensated.
