pay all government officials minimum wage!

I move that all government officials earn minimum wage and don't get all those fancy benefits! Their jobs aren't any harder than many of ours, yet they earn so much more! They need to have their paychecks slashed and lowered to the same level as the common worker. There is no reason for the Average Joe of Congress (there are 529 of them) to get paid $174,000 per year. But not everyone is average; the Speaker of the House gets $223,500 a year, while the majority and minority leaders of both the Senate and the House, along with the President Pro Tempore, get paid $193,400 per year. I say that they make no more than $60,000 per year at most!
