Pay Americans $2,000 if politicians cannot avoid the fiscal cliff at the end of 2012 to cover the increase in taxes.

My petititon is simple. It states that if America's leaders cannot come together and find some sort of middle ground with which they can avoid the fiscal cliff than American's should receive $2,000 to help cover for the new taxes that will take effect January 1, 2013 if Congress and the President cannot make a plan. In addition, if they show that they cannot handle the money they have now, why should we have to pay them more out of our own pockets? We work hard for our money, and if Congress and the President cannot, like I said, compromise, then we should not be to blame. As a people, we should not have to be the ones to be affected if it wasn't our own choices that lead to the consequences of higher taxes.
