Pay citizens to live a healthy lifestyle (maintain healthy weight, exercise, don't smoke, and don't drink).

Created by K.H. on October 27, 2011

The government can setup centers around the country where citizens can go every 3 months to have their weight and vitals taken, in addition to a website for citizen to record their workouts, what they eat, and share tips. When a person loses weight (if they're overweight) or maintains their weight (if already healthy), reduces their body fat %, remain alcohol-free, smoke-free, and drug-free, shows healthy vitals (i.e blood pressure), and (optionally) records their workouts and diet, the government can send that person a reward check (preferred) or issue a tax credit. This will motivate Americans to live a healthier lifestyle, which will help to ease the strain on the health care system, and hopefully, in the long run, reduce medicare expenses related to preventable diseases.
