College athletes should be paid for playing their sport. They give up time for homework and spend their free time representing their college and practicing all the time. They should be repaid for all the things they do for their school and all the time they put in. Since they don't have time to get jobs to help pay back their fees, the money they are paid would help make up some of that money they would have earned with a job.
