Make the salary of members of congress no more than thrice the salary of that of a full-time worker at the federal minimum wage.
This is an area in which we can easily make cutbacks.
Additionally, this would refocus the motivation to become a public servant on service to one's constituents, rather than financial gain.
Furthermore, such a change would ensure that the minimum wage is relevant to those in power, and maintained in a fair and balanced manner.
This is the type of common sense reform with benefits that should appeal to concerns from both sides of the aisle.
