Congress members are out of touch with most of America because they are too well-compensated to personally understand most Americans' economic concerns. If they were paid minimum wage, and allowed the worst/least healthcare insurance rather than the best, they would likely act more in the best interests of the Americans whose taxes pay their salaries.
