Pay Congressmen and Senators as much as public school teachers. $30,000 - $90,000 instead of $174,000.

Created by J.B. on November 08, 2011

Congressmen and Senators are paid $174,000 per year. that is completely absurd. High school teachers are paid between $30K and $90k. I believe that teachers are more valuable to society than a congressman who cares more about his party than the people he represents. The same goes for Senators. Maybe when these officials have to live and budget like real Americans, they will be more apt to think like Americans when they vote for bills. Not all Americans make six figure earnings.

I just believe that the men and women representing the people should have to know what it's like to live like the people. Middle class salaries only make sense.
