Pay Congressmen the median income of their respective districts; pay increases at the same rate as their constituents.

Created by T.H. on April 05, 2013

We each earn a wage reflective of our location and skills; this is determined by the free market in our respective areas of the country. Why then are Congressmen not held to the same measure as we are? If we are to let the free market decide our pay then so should it decide theirs.

Not only will this tie the pay of each Congressmen to the median income of their districts, thereby rewarding them for actually improving their district, but it will put them in the same situation as all of their constituents are in. Only then will they really understand what Middle America is going through.
