As of 2013:
President: $400,000 per year, including a $50,000 expense allowance.
Vice President $230,700 per year
rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $174,000 per year.

Majority Party Leader - $193,400
Minority Party Leader - $193,400
House Leadership
Speaker of the House - $223,500
Majority Leader - $193,400
Minority Leader - $193,400

Not to mention all their other benefits. I believe they need a 65% cut in pay and benefits with all pay raises put to the people their suppose to work for instead of them voting on it which they will always approve their pay raises. People should do these jobs because they want to better the country not get rich or in their case richer. This money could better healthcare, schools, help the poor and starving and more.
