Pay off the deficit

Created by A.Y. on March 31, 2013

Abolish tax exemption for churches, non-state hospitals and colleges to pay off deficit in 10 years or less.

It is unfair to the rest of us ignorant heathens to be forced to pay higher taxes because they don't. You say separation of church and state...what a crock!

Duke, Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic and on and on are all FOR PROFIT entities; and should pay taxes. Same for all FOR PROFIT colleges.

$1 trillion a year from churches or more
$1 trillion a year from colleges or more

If you can't do that at least force them to disclose their income, salaries, expenditures. Then folks will see the light.

Do away with the tax exemption and many clerics will likely find good honest work.
