The American people should require Congressional retirees to prove they need a pension before it is paid out.
It makes no sense for taxpayers to pay Congressional members a pension when most of them are already very wealthy. The pension should only be paid if the Congressional retiree would be living in poverty without it.
This action should apply to all living members of Congress, both current and previous.
