Every few years congress has felt the need to grant themselves a "cost of living" increase and yet continues to vote down raising the minimum wage. It is time that they remember that they work for us and should be asking our permission for a raise. Since that is unlikely a good compromise would be that if they get a raise it is required that their raises only come with a equal raise in minimum wage. Minimum wage could be raised on its own since theirs has for so long and it needs to catch up but it should from here forward be raised every time congress wants to increase their own.
