Our government should not abandon the families of those kidnapped in their time of need. Our policy of not paying ransoms is both ineffective and inhumane. The idea that we are somehow safer because we do not pay ransoms is an absurd and ridiculous arguement perpetuated by those who have never been in the situation. If you were kidnapped while on vacation or abroad while working would you not want the US government to do everything in their power including paying a ransom to free you. If the answer is yes then I implore you to sign this petition.
