To encourage senators to work harder at improving their states they should be paid Based on their states average household income. By doing so they will feel first hand the financial burden that their state on average does. And have a better knowledge of what life is truly like for the common man of their state. Most of all it would be a great incentive for them to improve their state. For when the state is doing well so would the senator.
