The government has taxes withheld from our paychecks, often more than we actually owe. This money is paid back in the form a tax refund. This constitutes an interest free loan to the government which is unfair and immoral. Other loans to the government pay interest and tax refunds should be no different.
By implementing a tax refund interest law, the government will be encouraged to stop tricking taxpayers into giving them free loans and the taxpayer will be compensated for loans they never consented to give.
