Pay women equal pay for equal work

Women deserve equal pay for equal work because not only is it a cilvil rights issue, but it is also an economic issue. Women need equal pay because it will help stimulate the economy. Currently, According to the U.S. Census Bureau, in 2011, women who worked full time earned, on average, only 77 cents for every dollar a man earned. The figures are even worse for women of color. African American women earned only 64 cents and Latinas only 55 cents for each dollar earned by a white male. Ensuring that women of all colors earn as much as their white male counterparts will help more American families bring home enough money to spend on a numerous amount of goods. This extra money in the pockets of American families will help the economy, as well as the families that desperately need it.
