Peaceably turn Texas into a U.S. territory and transfer its statehood to Puerto Rico.

Whereas a great number of Texans vociferously denounce statehood as a condition forced upon them, and whereas the question of secession was categorically and for all time decided in the field of battle, wherein Texas was soundly defeated and with it the notion of a "right to secede," and whereas the only viable alternative is to revert back to the previous statuts of a U.S. territory, and whereas Puerto Rico is now a U.S. territory, the majority of whose citizens have expressed a yearning to have their territory be granted the privilege of statehood; therefore, desiring to grant everyone, and especially all non-Texans, their wish, to the extent practicable and within the bounds of possibility, we present this petition to strip Texas of its statehood and transfer it to Puerto Rico.
