The cities of Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas continue to suffer difficulties stemming from the Texas state government and congressional delegation neglecting to live in the real world. The citizens of these cities suffer from blatant abuses of their rights and well-being such as medieval education policies, climate change denial, institutionalized homophobia, and opposition to perfectly sensible healthcare reform. Given that these cities are collectively the 17th largest economy in the world and also reasonably close together, it is practically feasible for them to form a new state. To do so would help secure the rights, liberties, and standard of living that people in any developed nation should expect.
