Peacefully allow the city of NEW ORLEANS to withdraw from Louisiana and become a protectorate of the United States

We, the undersigned, request that the city of New Orleans hereby be allowed to withdraw from the state of Louisiana and be accepted as a Protectorate of the United States Government. Seeing that the City of New Orleans has continuously been threatened and denigrated by a hostile state government which is now threatening to withdraw from the Union, and bearing in mind that New Orleans is one of the greatest cities on Earth, and, because, MARDI GRAS! We the undersigned request that the US Government adopt New Orleans as a legally recognized Protectorate with all rights and privileges thereto. We celebrate our sister city, Austin, TX, in her fight to be free of oppression, and we ask for the same consideration.
