Many years ago, the people of Texas fought hard against tyranny from the Mexican government. It is now apparent that tyranny has risen once again with oppressive taxes, regulations and legislation that infringe upon the very freedoms that Texans fought for so long ago. The Constitution guarantees the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and under such oppressive governance, it has become impossible to do so. Therefore, We the People, of The Republic of Texas, officially request to peacefully secede from the Union.
