Peacefully end the White House petition procedure. Our voices would be better served by reversing Citizens United.

Created by K.S. on November 13, 2012

Due to the media's recent coverage of Texas's most recent attempt to secede from the Union, the White House petition procedure has been overused to create other such trivial requests and will probably be abused to create other pointless petitions in the near future.

Furthermore, based on the success rate of petitions and the replies received, the petition procedure appears to have little benefit for the people it is meant to serve.

Therefore, our voice in government would be better represented by the overturning of 2010 case of Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission which essentially ruled that money equals speech essentially give the wealthiest the biggest megaphones in the country.
