As all 50 of these “United States” have petitioned to Secede from the union, I as an intelligent individual suggest that it would be more economically sound to have Washington DC withdraw from the union. Its policies are too expensive to promote a lasting social structure.
"...Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and institute new Government..."
As all 50 of these “United States “ have a similar agenda and Washington DC deviates from these ideals, I believe it to be right and just to sequester the dissenter to its own, independent identity.
