The choice that confronts us now is do we continue as we have, an increasingly disparate collection of states with ever diverging ideals held together by a Federal government incapable of progress and that has abandoned that which it was sworn to protect, or do we cut the mill stone from around our neck and try to find a better way? The people of this continent shall always and forever be linked as we are undoubtedly the children of a common mother. But like all children we have grown up and must stand on our own. We have outgrown the ties that bind us together. To protect that which we hold dear, not just for us but for those who come after, we must now consider going our own way. We must now consider, in all seriousness, a free and independent Commonwealth of Cascadia.
