Peacefully grant the City of Austin Statehood so that it may separate itself from the morons asking for secession.

The City of Austin continues to be an oasis for enlightenment in the cultural wasteland that is Texas. It has a significant technology related economy and one of the top universities in the country, yet, we need to share a state with people that want to teach intelligent design in our schools and deny funding to organizations that help provide cancer screenings to traditionally under-served minority populations. As such, given the push for secession here in Texas, it is necessary that Austin be granted separate statehood from the rest of Texas so that we may continue on a more positive and intelligent path.
